New Projects, Partnerships and Programs

SOS has partnered with the Local Management Board for Children's and Family Services of Kent County

SOS will support the LMB with communications to enhance recruitment and resource development for these programs: Foster or Adoptive Parents, Licensed Child Care, and Mentors.

SOS is collaborating with the Department of Social Services to help spread this important message:

The children for which the Department of Social Services is responsible have been neglected, abandoned, or are victims of physical, sexual, or emotional abuse. OR they are temporarily neglected because of a family crisis. You can help by being a foster parent. Being a foster or adoptive parent is the highest form of public service...foster and adoptive parents have the respect of our community and the reward of knowing they have helped stabilize a family in crisis. What does it take specifically to be a foster or adoptive parent?... visit: kentfosterparents.org

If you have questions or want to learn more about becoming a foster or adoptive parent you can email Kent County Department of Social Services  or tel. 410.810.7661. Thank you for your interest in helping children in need.
